Description

The GreenMill 4.0 project aims at the realization of a hardware/software system aimed at the continuous improvement of energy efficiency and at the optimization of milling production processes in an Industry 4.0 key.

Result

The system will be applied to the production plants of flour and semolina belonging to the Casillo Group, world leader in the sector and final user of the project.

The final goal is to reduce the environmental impact and operating costs of mills through the reduction of energy consumption of plants, production waste and inefficiencies of machinery and processes.

Project RES NOVAE Sector Public and private construction Test site Municipality of Bari Objective Tera has participated in innovative project for advanced and innovative solutions of energy flows management for Smart City. The project, supported by numerous partners, deal with cities problems with an organic way, starting from energy infrastructures, analysing them with a smar perspective and training sector professionals, employees in Public Administration and citizens on the tested new technologies through blended learing systems. Proposed action Installation of Tera actuator sensors and gateway to monitor energy consumption and environmental parameters in public buildings in the Bari area. The Energy Box get data from sensors to control environmental conditions and energy and thermal consumption. BEMS allows the management and the monitoring of individual buildings. Expected benefits The Energy Boxhas been upgraded with Beeta Box edge computer to improve performance in term of number and type of manageable functions, installation flexibility, user interaction, type of protocol used, direct access to the Cloud.

SPS-IT

Project SPS-IT (Smart Polyphenol manufacturing Supervisor) Sector Biochemistry Installation site Poly4Life – Terni Biotechnology Company Objective Elimination of production defects and reduction of the plant’s energy consumption. Proposed action Experimentation of an innovative supervision system in the production plant. Tera, as an Idea75 partner, collaborated in the definition and implementation of the 3 levels making up the SPS architecture: Field, Factory, Cloud. Tera contributed in particular to the Field level (consisting of sensors, actuators and gateway (SPS-gw) for the acquisition of data from the field ant the actuations management. Expected benefits SPS has allowed: a 20% reduction in quantity of product rejected for non-compliance; a 10% reduction in the lobal energy consumption of the production line; to improve the average quality of the finished product by 15%

Project TERA4Schools Sector School buildings, comfort indoor Test site Carelli Middle School– Forlani in Conversano (BA) Objective Raise public awareness and institutions about the need to improve the conditions of the school environment and protect the health of pupils and promote concentration and learning. Proposed action Installazione Installation in the classrooms, in the gyms and in the school offices, of a hundred sensors connected to the BEETA control unit, to monitor general electrical and electronic equipment consumption, thermal consumption, humidity levels, brightness, carbon dioxide and vibrations. Expected benefits Il 45.5% of cases the system detected higher level of CO2 (more than 1000ppm), a limit that identifies an unfavorable environmental condition for the pupils’ attention and concentration. In particular, the greatest presence of carbon dioxide has been detected in the most numerous classes and on winter days, when the window is opened rarely for the air change. The result obtained led to a proposal of a technical table, composed by regional councilors and interested people, as well as schools and companies, to extend the experimentation to reach a draft law on carbon dioxide monitorin in schools and other public spaces.
